Day 5- Purify my heart even when I am sensual
This can be a sensitive subject for some women, but we are going to talk about it. We are sexual beings and when we are with our husbands we are one and God meant for us to give ourselves to one another. However the part of this that needs to be pure are the thoughts and feelings in our hearts. Praying for sexual purity is something that cannot be over looked. We may have things that occurred in our past or we may know things from our partners past that are ultimately inhibiting our ability to be affectionate with one another. Pray for God to restore your heart to be sexually pure along with your mind and body and for Him to keep away thoughts of lust or past mistakes. Being with your husband in that way is an honor and to be looked upon with high regard. The world has so terribly misconstrued what was supposed to be the most wonderful gift in marriage, giving yourself to your husband.
The body is not for sexual immortality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. -1 Corinthians 6:13
Lord, Remind us what a wonderful gift it is to be able to give ourselves to our husband and become one. Help us to always desire one another and no one else. Keep our mind and thoughts pure and always hold our selves to a high standard. Show us how to always be a delight to our husbands and never let us do things out of anger or strife. Help us take any unnecessary stress off of our shoulders when it comes to being affectionate with one another. Let us always use one another as a shelter when we go through spiritual trials and storms. Teach us how to always treat one another with the utmost respect and most importantly show us the true meaning of husband and wife.
