Day 3- A path to pure thoughts
Just as our tongues need to be pure our minds needs to be depolluted as well. So much of what we see is toxic to our thoughts. There have been times in my life where I was watching a terrible scene in a movie and knew in that instant a little bit of my innocence was being taken from me. That is an alarming feeling. Even so we do this day in and day out. What is coming in determines what is going out. What we see and hear is the pathway to our imagination and all of our thoughts are based on those things. Quite scary considering what comes on the radio and television nowadays. As women of faith we have to wear our armor on all the time. We have to be ready to turn the channel or turn off our ears when someone is speaking negativity to us. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2) We have to become fixated with the things we receive from God and not the things that are here on earth.
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. –Hebrews 10:22
Lord, Pave us a path to purify our thoughts. Guide us with your words and wisdom. Take from us the curiosity that the world puts in our mind. Keep us grounded and always knowing what is important in this life. Lord Keep our eyes and ears centered on You above and not on the things of this earth. Help guide us to finding an untangled passageway that helps clear our thoughts.
My beautiful sister walking to the light in 2010. She was baptized by my grandfather Les Miller in the lake behind my parents house.
