Day 6-Let the walls around me be pure with light
How do you look at life? Do you look at the glass half empty or half full? Do you wake up in the morning and open the shutters and let the light pour in? Or do you go through the day with a cloud of stress over your head? How about your home, are you the keeper of a neat and tidy house? Or are you as disorganized as all get out? All of these things determine what kind of energy follows you around all day. My mother once told me that we have the choice to wake up every day and either make it a positive day or a negative day. I was astonished when I actually discovered the power of positive thinking. Is this true? Can I actually control how happy my life is? Oh boy can you ever, let’s stop feeling sorry for our selves and get cracking. First let us pray one of my favorite prayers together: “God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.” To complete the process of cleaning out our lives we must keep the atmosphere around us uplifting at all times. At home creating a tranquil ambiance is a must. I know not everyone is a clean freak like me, and to be honest I know that is not healthy either, but I am a firm believer that how you keep your quarters has a profound effect on your life. As women we need this, we need a place to go where we can feel safe and free from the world. Do you have a sacred sanctuary where you can be vulnerable and talk with God every day? If you don’t have that special place try creating one somewhere. Give yourself one part of your life where your surroundings are completely pure and you can go there and meditate on what the Lord has for you that day. As far as living in a more positive light, take it slow and try to change one thing at a time. Maybe today you look in the mirror and tell yourself what you see (only positive things). I think when we can discover the true meaning of being joyful with what the Lord has blessed us with instead of always wanting more we will then be at peace. Hallelujah.
If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. – Proverbs 24:10
Lord, today help us to not worry with the things of this world we have no control over. Help us to only work on the things we can change in our lives. Let us always be an uplifting and positive influence not only to ourselves but also to everyone around us. Let our surroundings be without clutter and free from stress. Finally, let us find that sanctuary of calm where we can go and spend alone time with You and please continue to show us the importance of that throughout our lives.
